Worms Reloaded honed for PC specifically

Worms Reloaded, the first 2D Worms game for PC in 12 (!) years, will be more than a port of any of the previous console versions of the game. Thats what Team 17 again confirmed on their Facebook page saying:"WORMS RELOADED has been expanded and honed for PC specifically, in terms of controls & feature-set".
At the same time they released a statement concerning Worms 2 Armageddon for XBLA quote "Worms 2 Armageddon on XBLA "BATTLE PACK" DLC - New missions, weapons, features, game modes, 10 new Forts, more voices, new personalisation items and much more... "Quite likely this 'Battle Pack' add-on for Worms 2 Armageddon is a prelude of what to expect for Worms Reloaded for the PC and thus might give some idea of the features present in the PC version

Worms Reloaded is the new Worms for PC

What we thought was going to be called Worms 2: Armageddon and a reworked version of the XBLA game, will actually be a completely new game, and presented under the name Worms Reloaded.
Team 17 posted this info on their Facebook page, while adding that it will be an "extended version of the console games of late".

For the WA community the important thing is, how will this new game fit in with what is the legacy of 2D worming on the PC? And while the namechange makes it seem to go further away from that legacy, the fact that this game looks less and less as a port of Worms 2 Armageddon XBLA actually sounds like the game will have been developed specifically for the PC, meaning that it could carry some features that made it's predecesor so popular!

If you can't wait to see what the game is going to look like, there's more good news; Team 17 also promise to have screenshots and a trailer to be available soon, adding that a demo will be available at some point too.

CLAN NEWS: R.A.F to be active on Worms Reloaded

When Worms Reloaded will come out for PC, my intention is for the R.A.F to be there aswell as on WA! The new game may be somewhat different from WA with a different weapon set but the important thing is teh ability to play custom schemes and maps. As long as those requirements are met, we'll be there with the site adjusted for the new game, and hopefully in full arms in the new W2A WormNet!For the time being though, we're still only a Worms Armageddon clan, and should you be interested in our clan, just register and start a thread introducing yourself!

No more RubberWorm,... or is it?

Since Pisto decided to stop updating RubberWorm, it would almost seem that it would be the end of the most popular WormKit add-on as of yet. Fortunately however, he decided to give the source code to the WA bèta developers, whom aren't likely to just throw them away! So together with the bad news of the end of wkRubberWorm comes the good news that the RubberWorm features may be embedded in an upcoming Worms Armageddon bèta update! For now though, you can still download RubberWorm from right here!

Worms 2 Armageddon PC not just XBLA port

Worms 2 Armageddon was announced to be released somewhere at the end of 2009, yet the bugs that pestered the XBLA version made that the PC incarnation isn't even started on. There's good news too though, T17 realized that the game is worth more than to be a simple port, meaning that PC specific features like PNG maps andsoforth are more likely to be present!

Good things come to those who wait

New wkRubberWorm version in the works

Pisto is working on a new version of his beloved WormKit module; RubberWorm, and as always, it looks like there are some cool new inventive features in it . Proven by the preview that he posted on the T17 forum. One of the new features would be the repairing of the faulty game physics, ie when you shoot a nade straight at a 45° girder, it still comes back right at you, no longer with this new rubberworm! Other stuff like an improved crateshower is there ready to be tested out^^The current build (at the time of writing this article) can be found here, Newer version here.
